NADONA is pleased to announce a new Webinar Series sponsored by Ocean Spray. This 3-part series will be on Antibiotic Stewardship in LTC. It will be reviewing the new requirements of Antibiotic Stewardship as well as the actual components of a facility program. It will have a focus on UTIs and CAUTIs and strategies on how to reduce the incidence of antibiotic resistance.

This webinar will identify the need for an interprofessional team to collaborate on a facility Antibiotic Stewardship committee. It will also describe how CAUTIs contribute to antibiotic resistance in LTC and how using the proper communication mechanisms can lead to the breakdown of communication barriers.

MI-NADONA/LTC Infection Preventionist Board Certification Review Course:  This IP-BC Certification Meets New CMS & CDC Requirements!

The Michigan Chapter NADONA/LTC in partnership with HCAM, exclusive educational event manager for MI-NADONA/LTC, will be offering the Infection Preventionist Board Certification Review Course for IP-BC Certification for post-acute care and assisted living/senior living clinical professionals to obtain their IP-BC certification.  Completion of this course meets the new CMS requirements for Infection Preventionist training and satisfies DCD guideline requirements as well.   This certification preparation course is facilitated by Dr. J. Hudson Garrett Jr, Chief Clinical Officer, Master Trainer and Editor-in-Chief of The Director, for NADONA/LTC.  All HCAM, MCAL and MI-NADONA/LTC members are strongly encouraged to participate!  Registration will be available within the next few weeks.  This certification preparation course is limited to the first 60 registrants; please contact KistiBoatright@hcam.org should you wish to reserve a seat!
